Tracing back the exact origin of 'Bingo (Was His name-O) is a little trickier but it is believed that the tradional nursery rhyme most likely came from Scotland, with the first published version shared in London in 1780. 

Interestingly though the early versions of the nursery rhyme wasn't called 'Bingo' instead it was known as 'The Farmer's Dog leapt o'er the Stile'.
