I Hear Thunder
(with additional verses)
A Piccolo take on this traditional favourite, with extra verses exploring the sounds and feelings of the seasons.
Children rumble the thunder, swirl like autumn leaves, catch snowflakes, stretch up to the sunshine and finally drift off under a sky of twinkling stars.
Lyrics (Preview)
I hear thunder, I hear thunder
Hark don't you, hark don't you
Pitter patter raindrops, pitter patter raindrops
I'm wet through, so are you
…
Leaves are falling, leaves are falling
Cold wind blows, cold wind blows
…

Weather Sounds with Hands
Children can make lots of different sounds using just their hands and fingers.
Before singing, explore a few together and listen to how they sound.
Try:
• Thunder – rumble by tapping your knees or the floor
• Autumn leaves – tap two fingers gently together
• Snowflakes – tap fingertips very lightly
• Sunbeams – click your fingers or flick them outwards
• Summer sun – rub your hands together slowly
Notice how the sounds change if you move fast or slow, soft or loud.
