Piccolo's School Music Workshops
Early Years School Workshops
Sing with Piccolo, official music partner and headline sponsor of ‘World Nursery Rhyme Week’ offers school workshops that are all about learning through play and they use child-friendly engaging songs and activities to develop musical concepts.
After the workshops, children can continue to sing their award-winning songs on all the major streaming platforms e.g. Spotify/Amazon under their artist name ‘Piccolo Music’.

Sing Yourself Happy - About the Workshop
A Piccolo Music specialist will work with teachers to give them the tools and confidence to continue to deliver highly effective music lessons.
Teaching staff will have the opportunity to observe and interact in classroom music sessions demonstrated by a Piccolo specialist. They will learn how to develop children’s understanding of pulse, rhythm, tempo and dynamics using Piccolo’s unique delivery method and award-winning songs. Content ranges from rhythm development using clapping games and percussion instruments, to part songs.
Through music, we reinforce core numeracy, language and literacy concepts as well as supporting physical development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
With the support of our experienced music leaders teachers will increase their skills & confidence to use music and song in the classroom across the curriculum.
In the sixth week you can request either of the following two options:
- An opportunity to invite parents to take part in the workshop and for the children to showcase their work, singing and making music with parents. An ideal way for schools and parents to work in partnership.
- A one to one session outside of the classroom with the musician to give the teachers the opportunity to evaluate what they have learned, highlight links to the Model Music Curriculum (MMC), and be given signposts for next steps to gain confidence to deliver music sessions themselves.
If you choose option 1 you may be able to book option 2 on another day for an additional fee.
Songs include: Warm up songs such as Boogie Woogie, Two things and Singing Happy, themed songs such as Stomping Dinosaurs and Creeping through the Jungle and many more musical games and activities.
You will be given a password related to the relevant age group giving you access to the many of these songs on our website

Piccolo's Christmas Workshop
Sing Yourself Happy - About Piccolo's Christmas Workshop
Teaching staff will have the opportunity to observe and interact in classroom music sessions demonstrated by a Piccolo specialist.
Learning Christmas themed songs and musical activities, they will learn how to develop children’s understanding of pulse, rhythm, tempo and dynamics using Piccolo’s unique delivery method and award-winning songs. Content ranges from rhythm development using clapping games and percussion instruments, to part songs.
Through music, we reinforce core numeracy, language and literacy concepts as well as supporting physical development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

Songs include: The star was bright - a nativity themed song, It’s nearly Christmas Eve - wrapping presents and making mince pies and a sing and play along Christmas Calypso.
